Review of Jamie At Home
More reasons to like a guy I previously could not abide. Some great veg recipes from his garden. Makes me feel bad for neglecting my own.

This series has been on for a few weeks now and is really becoming a firm favourite. The first episode did not blow me away and I think that's because Jamie Oliver is being much more low key than usual.
It's a simple series all about cooking interesting stuff from his garden. Lots of the recipes are very doable with just a few in the "nice but too much work" category, like the clear cold tomato consomme.
I particularly liked the BBQ epsiode and the bean one has really encouraged me to grow some of my own on the various places where they could climb.
It's just nice to see him try different things like this. I doubt I'd buy any book associated with it as I have tons of veg and gardening ones in addition to cookbooks.
One thing he might consider is doing a series on neglected veg and herbs. Things like sorrel, lovage, winter savory etc. It's terrible that we have forgotten how to use all of these classic English flavours and have reduced our selection down to thyme, rosemary, mint, oregano, parsley and basil.
