Review of My Name is Earl (Cops Episode)

My Name is Earl (Cops Episode)

I love this series but the Cops episode from last night was pure genius. Absolute laugh out loud brilliant. I just wish Jason Lee tried to escape on a skateboard.

There is something utterly beguiling about this show and Jason Lee himself. It's nearly a stoner series it is so laid back. But the characters are just amazing. From Earl to Joy to Crabman to Patty The Daytime Hooker. I love every one of them.

This series has been up and down a bit. I'm not sure how much I enjoyed the trip to Mexico to rescue the hottie Catalina but the episode with her jumping to House Of Pain will stay with me for many years.

Last night's episode dispelled any doubts that this is classic TV being made. They were all in the bar when a 2003 episode of Cops appeared on the TV which had been filmed in their town. The rest of the episode consisted of clips from this showing the lives the were leading back then. Earl was married to Joy and he was a crook, as was Randy and Crabman was growing weed.

I seriously could not stop laughing during this. Every scene was a gem and the one-liners came thick and fast. Joy has to be one of the greatest comedy characters of all time. I think I have to go and watch that episode again.
